Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion Normal/Dry Review

Hello my lovelies! Today I’m going to be reviewing my new cleanser which I brought a few months back from boots. Having never tried a no7 skin care product before I didn’t really know what to expect but I had already heard some great reviews on the new beautiful skin range from a few youtubers. So, in desperate need of a new cleanser I snapped up the cleansing lotion for normal/dry skin, hoping for the best! The cleanser comes in a range of different skin types, so there is something for everyone.

 Packaging;

You get a huge 200ml bottle, which sadly doesn’t fit into my skin care shelf so it has to lye on its side. Apart from that it is quiet chic and “nice” looking in my opinion, with a see through bottle so you can see how much you have left and a simple lilac and cream pump. The packaging really helps to correspond with what the product is actually all about, “1 simple step to perfectly clean, supple skin.” One thing I didn’t like about the packaging was it came with no lid but one of those fiddly tops that you turn to lock. I find with literally every no7 product you always have a massive long essay on the back about it, which obviously shows how much they believe their products work! However, I do like the extra information it provides unlike other cleansers.

Pros;

  • The product itself takes off makeup really well and as promised , “1 easy step.” I don’t have to fuss with eye makeup remover or a wipe, this does the job perfectly!
  • It also has a very clean fresh scent that isn’t too strong which is perfect for my sensitive skin! Furthermore, I'm not really one for putting something smelly on my face anyway – it just puts me off.
  • This one could be debatable but the texture of the product is really thick and creamy which I like as I feel like it nourishes my dry skin and helps to hydrate it. Some people could find it too heavy but the cleanser comes in a range of skin types as mentioned earlier so I can see why this is targeted more towards the drier skin types.
  • You get what you pay for and more! The product does what it promises yet you still get a great cleanser for how much you paid! I'm surprised this isn’t in the £15-£20 mark!
  • It doesn't feel oily or greasy on your skin after.
Cons;

  • Theres not many so I'm going to be a bit fussy and moan about the lid!
  • I find the product to be not very concentrated and you need a lot for your whole face. I usually use 5+ pumps of it which doesn’t sound like a lot but covers the whole cotton face pad.

Life, Reflections, Moving forward

Oh lord, it definitely has been a while, apologies my lovelies! But I’m back and I’m sure as hell ready to ramble on about nothing, so you're in luck munchkins! In all seriousness, I’ve had a great time away (not saying I didn’t miss you guys because I did) it's really given me time to think about my future and what I want to do. So let’s have a DMC! I really should tell you what that is because we’re going to have a lot of these in the future! Deep, meaningful, conversation. Good luck reading this guys…

I've always been that person who just drifts through life (in the words of my science teacher, hi Mr. North if you’re reading this) and I thought maybe its time to stop drifting and land in a place called reality. If you asked me two months ago what I wanted to do with my life, who I waned to become and what my goals where I would have probably just rambled and made something up to be honest. I always change my mind and I’m also one of the most unpredictable people you'd meet. It frustrates me and god knows what it does to the people around me! I thought enough is enough. I asked myself things like what you enjoy, where do you see yourself in 10 years time etc. If there’s one thing I learnt sometimes its best not to search for answers, but to just let them find you in the midst of all the chaos, the biggest chaos that you'd come across - life.

People come and go, we move on and its done. Sounds simple, but somehow moving on isn’t as easy as it is spelt. I think I’ve found the answer (for me anyway). I've always hated goodbyes but sometimes goodbyes are for the best. Even though we don't want it to happen it does, because sometimes people come in to our lives just to open our eyes, teach us something new and to help us move forward. As soon as we learn our lesson, push ourselves forward and make ourselves better, the past drifts away. It sounds cheesy but seriously we shouldn’t cry because its over but smile because it happened. Smile because we learnt from it. Smile because it was great while it lasted. In all honesty, as long as you allow yourself to let go the rest will fall in place naturally. Your probably thinking what do I know? I’m a 14 year old girl with my whole life ahead of me, but that is exactly it! We all have our whole lives ahead of us, we all have a chance every day, every second, to be brand new.

As I said I did have a think about my future and the answer was staring me right in the face. What do I love doing? Talking! Which girl doesn’t right? But I seriously love doing this, writing, talking and I feel like I learn so much from it too. Sometimes I learn a lot from myself just blabbering on! Anyways, I have thought about journalism and I tried not to dream big but the world is really my oyster/lobster (thank you tracy beaker for confusing me)! So if you ask me where I see myself in 10 years time, I have a new, more certain response. New York,

SkinTreats; Delish honey&oats facemask

Hey my lovelies! I've been feeling not too great this week at all as i had/have been dealing with a throat infection. Which means i have had plenty of bed rest and have literally abandoned all skin products (even moisturisers)! Whenever I'm ill my skin suffers too and not only was it extremely dry but i also had a spot on my forehead and chin. This always annoys me as i rarely put too much effort in with my skin as it's quiet clear, but regardless i knew i had to make this delish face mask to revive my skin (and me) for the rest of the week!

Here's what you'll need,

  • 3tbsp oats, I'm using the co ops natural oats but you can use any

  • 1tbsp honey, the squeezy bottle is so much easier to work with, thanks mum!

  • 1tbsp yogurt, this will make it into a paste, I'm using a low fat one but a full fat one would probs be better for your face that it!

  • a lid of milk! And yes i am collecting the cravendale milk cartons for the backpacks :')
  • Honey - helps to protect skin from damage of sun, rejuvenates and refreshes dull skin, treats minor acne and moisturises even the driest of skins!
    Milk -  Milk also supplies energy to our skin, it has proteins, calcium, lactose, fat, vitamin A, B12, D, and zinc. Milk soothes and nourishes the skin and the natural ingredients in milk hydrate, help to diminish redness and prevent irritated skin. It will also give your skin a glow.
    Yogurt - contains zinc, calcium, vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, protein and yeast. Yogurt adds enzymes and oils to the skin - so it works as a natural moisturiser. It also helps to reduce pore size, give a glow to the skin and overall texture.
    Oats - soothes redness and irritated skin, relieves dry/itchy skin, natural acne remedy, exfoliates the skin of dry and dead skin cells.

    All you need to do now is mix them all together and apply to clean skin free of makeup. I normally do this in the mornings before a shower so i can pamper my skin after with cleanser and moisturiser!

    Confessions of a Shopaholic; wishlist of the moment

    Thought I'd put together a little something of the things that i fancy spoiling myself with (or just wasting money on)! Let's face it - I'm only going to live once so why not? I'll just keep telling myself that..

    1. Topshop skintint

    Heard some great things about this beauty and still haven't gotten the chance to grab it and go :( I'm after that glowy but no makeup look that i think mostly everyone after and I'm sure this will give it to me. At the moment I'm using the bourjois healthy mix in 54, not sure which skin tint will suit me, any ideas?

    2. Topshop cream blush

    I know another topshop cosmetic item, but i really want to try a few things from them! This i have swatched numerous times in the store and still haven't convinced myself (when I'm there) that i actually need it. Currently I'm using the no7 cream blush from the vital brights spring collection which i like a lot but theres hardly any product in there compared to this beast of a product. It also was around the same price so i know I'm definitely going to get more with this. The colour i want is head over heels which will be perfect for the hotter months. For £6 i can't say no when I'm out of my no7 blush.

    3. Denim shirt

    Been after one of these for ages! They are great to just layer over with chunky jumpers in the winter and to just wear with some hot feather earring's in the summer. A basic wardrobe need! Unfortunately, i can't find one anywhere, any ideas guys? I seriously don't want to be spending something ridiculous (£20+).

    4. Basic brown backpack

    I'm so glad backpacks are in now. Seriously, much more comfortable when lugging tons of books around in school for like 8 hours. I purchased a cute Aztec one online from UO and loved it. But i just want a simple brown one for everyday wear and tear. Would go with everything and just makes me think of summer. I swear i saw one in primark but i went today and couldn't see any brown backpacks. Not really into the floral ones.

    5. Studded jeans

    Studded anything really! But jeans are a huge staple of mine, i like covering my legs as i don't really like them. Would they hurt though if someone came in contact with my legs? Just wondering.

    Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in 3+4

    Hey everyone! Today i wanted to share with you my thoughts on my favourite drugstore concealer. It's collection 2000's lasting perfection ultimate wear concealer (omg appreciate i typed out the long name) which i first purchased in the summer of 2011 when my skin was a tad dark for my other concealers. I purchased it in 4 which is now a bit too dark for me in the winter but I'm still keeping it for those hotter, darker skinned days to come! This concealer is raved about a lot so today I'm just going to weigh up the pros and cons and show you the two shades that i have, shades medium  3 and deep 4. This retails for about £4-5 from boots/superdrug. And as far as i know it's only available in the UK.

    On the left is shade 3 and the right shade 4.

    You can see that shade 4 is clearly darker. The colour range is the first disappointment with this product as the shades go from 1-4. In the summer i am an nc35 skin tone and shade 4 matched my skin in the summer. The colour range is disappointing as tanned and darker girls won't be able to even purchase the concealer as the colours are quiet light. The biggest problem i have with this concealer is trying to warm it up. In the mornings I'm far too lazy to put the concealer on the back of my hand and then apply it and to be honest I'm not a germ freak! If i don't shake it and rub it between my hands for a minute or so it will apply quiet thick and can look streaky or odd compared to my skin. I found this out on the way to school with my dad and he asked me what the mark on my cheek was - the concealer! Also, I've read some reviews with people saying that they didn't like the concealer because it was "orangey". With shades 3 and 4 my skin wasn't left orangey at all and the colours swatched below will show you what i mean.

    On the left is shade 3 and on the right is shade 4.

    The coverage on this concealer is absolutely beautiful for a drugstore concealer. I would give it a 5/5. If you pat it onto your skin it fills pores which is a bonus for me as i have horrible large pores on my nose. I wouldn't really say the product is really concentrated like the mac pro longwear concealer (which you need like half a sweetcorn size of) yet you don't need to layer it or use more for it to stay all day. This lasts me the whole school day and more so it definitely lives up to its super loong name and stays for super looong. It also covers spots, scars, scabs, redness and under eye bags. It's just a great product to throw in your makeup bag for when an odd spot pops up or to touch up throughout the day.

    "My camera has been dead for a few months"

    Right, i think thats about everything done. The designing, naming and as much messing around as i could do in the matter of 2 hours with this site. So, hi stranger! Welcome to my blog. Here i'm just going to post some reviews and what not on some cosmetic bits and bobs that i gather. I'm not sure if i will stay loyal to this but i will see how it goes. I'm a youtuber but my camera has been dead for a few months now so i've had nothing else to do. Sadtimes. Anyway, i hope you enjoy this, for what it is and however long it lasts and i will try my best with it!
